Tesla Model 3 & Model Y – What’s Coming? 🚘
Tesla has officially applied for homologation approval in India. This process ensures that the vehicles meet Indian safety, environmental, and technical regulations. The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) is responsible for conducting the tests, and once the vehicles pass, a Type Approval Certificate (TAC) will be issued. This means Tesla is gearing up for its much-awaited India launch!
Tesla’s Plans for India 🇮🇳
Initially, Tesla was considering local manufacturing in India. However, the brand has decided to begin with Completely Built-Up (CBU) imports. This move allows Tesla to test the market and understand Indian customer preferences before committing to local production. If demand meets expectations, Tesla could set up a manufacturing facility in India in the future.
Tesla’s first offerings in India will be the Model 3 and Model Y, which are their most affordable models globally.
